Amzar's "Emergency Response" Division was set up to meet the needs of organisations working in the field that had to be up and running rapidly in response to an emergency situation. Amzar, by taking advantage of its extensive logistics capability and experience in the provision of field services can provide everything needed to set up full tented or other portable accommodation facilities from the ground up at extremely short notice.

Our Emergency Response division has access to engineers, planners and the full range of construction personnel to set up fully working field camps with all the essential services of running water, electricity and sewage management. Whole camps can be set up and operational within a matter of days at any location in the Sudan.

A Recent example of of Amzar's emergency response work was the urgent setting up of a tented camp to house the first arrivals of the African Union Cease Fire Commission in response to the present crisis in the Darfur region of the Sudan.

Amzar was commissioned to provide a variety of tented accommodation facilities in the camp to cater for up to 170 cease fire monitors within three weeks. This work included full land surveying and preparation, installation of a self contained electricity supply to all tents throughout the camp, the setting up of latrine and shower facilities and the provision of full catering facilities to meet the dietary needs of the many nationalities who are to work from the site.
